299th Anniversary Celebration

Our Anniversary Celebration on 3 June marked 299 years since King George I granted The French Hospital its Royal Charter.

We are pleased to report that 80 were in attendance for a drinks reception and lunch in the Gastigny Room at 95 High Street in Rochester. Following lunch, we all proceeded to Rochester Cathedral where The Right Reverend Michael Langrish delivered the sermon and Charles Boileau, one of our Directors, gave the reading. Support from Friends of The French Hospital enables our Residents to attend this event free of charge and for their guests’ tickets to be subsidised. We received wonderful feedback from those attending, including this nice note from one of our Residents:

“Thank you for such a nice day yesterday. The food at lunch was really good, as was the wine. An excellent choice of caterers. The service was so well done, very impressive. A very good day altogether.”
