Tour The French Hospital Almshouses & Huguenots’ Garden
We are pleased to announce that we will open our doors to the public on Saturday, 10 September from 10:00am to 4:00pm as part of 2016 Heritage Open Days.
Heritage Open Days is the country’s largest heritage festival with around 5,000 events, over 40,000 volunteers and more than three million visitors taking part. Celebrating local history, architecture and culture, the event offers everyone the chance to see hidden places and experience something new – all of which are completely free to explore.
During your visit to The French Hospital you’ll have the opportunity to go on a guided tour of our site and visit the private Huguenots’ Garden which features plants that would have been familiar to gardeners of the 16th and 17th centuries in France and England. Refreshments will be available onsite and all proceeds from the refreshments will benefit the residents of The French Hospital. We also highly recommend a visit to the nearby Huguenot Museum which holds the main collection of The French Hospital.
No booking is required for the event.
