The French Hospital Almshouses

300th Anniversary

Friends’ event at Boughton House

We are delighted to announce a very special event on Wednesday, 30 May 2018 for our Friends of The French Hospital. The Duke of Buccleuch has kindly offered to host us as his personal guests at Boughton House.

Boughton House provides a rare opportunity to see how English culture was boosted by the skills of Huguenot craftsmen through painting, furniture, printing, silver, maps, sculpture, guns, porcelain and more. Boughton House hosted the special Huguenot Summer exhibition in August 2015 which celebrated the extraordinary legacy of the Huguenot artwork preserved there.

Our visit includes a drinks reception on arrival, cold fork buffet in the Tapestry Suite, followed by a personal guided tour of Boughton House with the Duke of Buccleuch and his team. Weather permitting, there will also be an opportunity to visit the beautiful gardens. Tea and coffee will be served before departure.

Tickets for this event are £60pp and will be made available in March 2018. We anticipate that demand will be high and we will operate a waiting list – please RSVP sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment. If you are interested in attending this event, please contact Vanessa Weddell at

**Please note that to attend this event you must be a Friend of The French Hospital. If you are not a Friend already, it is not too late to join our group before booking your tickets for this event. Annual membership starts from just £25 per year and single Life Memberships are available for £150pp. If you would like to become a Friend of The French Hospital, please visit our Friends page.
